Avonlea Heritage Museum is open 7 days a week from 10am -5pm, May 1 - August 31. Our museum is housed in three separate buildings. The first, the original CNR Station, houses CNR artifacts, a pioneer kitchen, a bedroom, a child’s room, a telephone office, a one roomed school, a RCMP station, sports hall of fame, and a Legion display with pictures and stories of residents that have served in the armed forces. The second, a 50x100 ft steel building, contains a Main Street depicting typical business from Avonlea’s early days, and agricultural equipment. This building also contains our first class mural depicting four eras in the history of the plains from dinosaurs to First Nations done by local resident Paul Gerahty. Paul has done work for the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and museums in Ontario. Our third building is an Anglican church that preserves the religious history of the area.
