Job Description
The Museums of Burlington is seeking a Digital Marketing Associate to join the Special Events team. The Digital Marketing Associate will be responsible for overseeing the Museums’ digital presence with the goal of enabling new audiences to discover the Museums.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a social media plan/strategy that will engage, inform and inspire our followers.
- Build and manage the Museums’ social media profiles and presence including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram etc.
- Provide graphic design services for campaigns and initiatives that will be reflected on our social channels.
- Regularly review analytics and insights for all platforms to further track engagement (failures and successes).
- Assist with special events for Canada Day Strawberry Social and Joseph Brant Day celebrations.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with an emphasis on marketing, design, advertising, or related field, and returning to school in the fall.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, WordPress, Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, MailChimp, as well as social media platforms, including; Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and more.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to utilize analytics and data insights to make decisions.
- Graphic design skills including using Adobe Photoshop to design assets for social campaigns.
- Strong written communication and content development skills
- Knowledge of search engine optimization
- Candidates must provide proof of enrollment in a college or university program in order to be eligible through Young Canada Works.
