The Duck Lake Historical Museum Society is looking for outgoing, enthusiastic student to work as a Heritage Interpreter from May 14 to September 3, 2018.

Job Description - Serve as receptionist and ambassador for visitors by providing information and directions for local, regional and related attractions/sites -Interpret the Centre’s historical stories, theme and exhibits to students and visitors - Assist the Curator in developing and delivering the Children’s Summer Programs and special events - Assist the Curator in researching and developing curriculum based programming for schools and targeted programming for nursing homes and special care facilities - Archival research to assist in developing and enhancing public programming such as newsletters, informational pamphlets and outreach kits to schools and nursing homes - Assist the Curator in digitizing and researching the collections for the computer program - Minor housekeeping and landscaping tasks.


Job Requirements: Applicant must attend post secondary or high school; have a good knowledge of Canadian History, excellent verbal communications skills and an interest in education and culture. Bilingual would be an asset but not necessary. Students with a background in Education, History, Native Studies, and or Administration would be an asset. Working knowledge of Microsoft Work, Windows XP, Publisher, and File maker and Power Point would also be an asset.
