Applications are requested for the position of Curatorial Assistant at Grenfell Campus Art Gallery in Corner Brook, NL. Grenfell Campus Art Gallery is Western Newfoundland’s public art gallery, supporting the Visual Arts Program of Memorial University, local public schools and the community of Corner Brook and the region. The gallery is an interpretive educational gallery dedicated to the research, interpretation, and exhibition of contemporary and historical art relevant to regional, national and international interests. We also maintain an active collection. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating the collections database; the ongoing digitization and documentation of the collection; exhibition takedown and installations; exhibition development; working with youth; and the daily operation of the gallery. The successful candidate will have training in the visual arts and literacy in database, word-processing and spreadsheet software, an interest in art and gallery operations, strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, and experience working with youth. Hourly wage: $19.20.
