This position will involve:
-Implementing interpretive programs
-designing and installing displays
-assisting Curator with cataloguing and photo-documentation of artifacts
-researching and writing of interpretive materials
-assisting with annual events, including advertising
The ideal candidate will be a student in museum studies, history or a related field.

Required skills:
-demonstrated organizational and research skills, excellent written and spoken English, creativity, and ability to work well with the public, both children and adults.
-ability to work both collaboratively and independently
-computer skills must be sufficient to carry out tasks and will require use of Microsoft Office, email, Internet, social media and printer/scanner/copier.

Sombra Museum was founded in 1959 to preserve the Victorian, pioneer and maritime history of the former Sombra Township. Housed originally in a 136 year-old Victorian home and featuring an 1820's-era log cabin, it now also includes a state-of-the-art meeting room, archival vault, marine and display galleries. Step into the past of the idyllic village and township of Sombra, ON located on the beautiful St. Clair River, where you can reveal the mysteries of Great Lakes shipwrecks, walk in the steps of early explorers and glimpse into the lives of pioneer farmers, Victorian ladies, pirates, bootleggers and more!
