This position is funded by the Young Canada Works program. To be eligible to participate in this program, you must: be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada; be legally entitled to work in Canada; be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;have finished the school term at the start of employment; have been a full-time student January-April 2018 ;intend to return to full-time studies in September 2018; be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment; not have another full-time job (over 35 hours a week) over the summer.
This is a pretty fast paced job, so you must be a disciplined person and be willing and able to learn quickly so you can start getting out and interacting right away. Good speaking/reading/writing abilities in English is amust, but given the broad spectrum of visitors we receive being able to speak French and/or another language is a plus.
Ideally, you’re planning a career in museums or heritage interpretation, drama, and are enrolled in a field of study related to that career.Experience working or volunteering in, museum or theatre would be considered an asset.
Salary rate is $14.00 per hour. Scheduled 35 hour work week which may include weekends and alternate shift hours. This position is a fourteen week contract to start June 11 and run to August 31, 2018.
