McCrae House, Guelph Museums
Guelph Museums consists of Guelph Civic Museum, Locomotive 6167 and McCrae House,
a National Historic Site and birthplace of Lt. Col. John McCrae, author of the WWI poem
“In Flanders Fields”. This position is situated at McCrae House. The Museum Assistant will provide a high level of customer service and will assist with the delivery of public, education and interactive activities and programs, helping to illustrate the rich history of the City of Guelph and the life and times of John McCrae.


Starting Date: Tuesday, May 15, 2018
Position End: Saturday, September 1, 2018
Hourly Rate: $17.39/hour
Supervisor: Val Harrison, Supervisor, Visitor Experiences, Guelph Museums
Work Week: 35 hours, 1 hour lunch break.
Qualifications: Currently studying or have completed a degree in history, anthropology or related science.
Excellent communication (verbal and written in French and English), interpersonal, customer and food service skills.
Must be between the age of 16-30 and returning to school (grant requirement)

Work Location: McCrae House

Duties:
In both official languages-
Provide excellent customer service, including reception duties at McCrae House.
Facilitate tours and youth programming activities.
Assist with special events and revenue generating activities for McCrae House, including: Piping Evenings, Summer Tea and Tours, Backyard Theatre
Become familiar with Guelph Civic Museum and McCrae House history and education programs.
