SUMMER PROGRAM ASSISTANT
JUNE 11 TO AUGUST 24, 2018.

The Yorkton Public Library has an opening for a university, college or high school student, between the ages of 15 and 30, who is familiar with and enjoys working with children of all ages.
He/she will be working with small and large groups of children and handling the daily activities of the Summer Programming of Yorkton Public Library.
Under the direction of the Children's Programmer, the successful applicant will:
Implement and facilitate educational and recreational activities;
Work with YPL staff to develop and deliver programs and training to volunteers and community organizations;
Promote the summer programs;
Supervise children attending programs and promote safety and respect amongst participants;
Maintain appropriate records and evaluations
Qualifications:
Relevant education and/or work experience in education or related field, with an emphasis on
working with children and youth;
Program planning and facilitation experience is an asset;
Good communication skills, written and verbal;
Good organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
The successful applicant should also have experience with computers, word processing programs, Internet and social networking sites. Having a musical or drama background, and an interest in art and crafts would be an asset . Job offer is contingent on successful criminal records check if applicant is over the age of 18.
Manual labour may be involved.
The position is for 35 hours a week.
The salary is $14.00/an hour.
