Job Description: Education program development: Become familiar with current educational materials, museum resources, and programs. Review available curriculum changes and provide input on changes to be made to existing programs. Creation of new programs that are in line with the current curriculum including a teaching component and a hands on activity.
Education program promotion: Develop an outreach plan to engage local educators, recruit volunteers, and provide basic level training to staff on any changes made to the program. Expand database for distribution of our teachers newsletter.
Program delivery: Coordinate and deliver summer educational activities for children, kids camps, and schools who visit the museums over the summer months.
Reception/visitor services: -responsible for greeting visitors, processing ticket sales, answering multi-line phone, booking and confirming group tours. General office duties and computer tasks.
Qualifications: -college or university student, Microsoft office 2007, competent skills in word and excel, desktop publishing skills an asset, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, experience working with children , open to all applicants.
Location: off QE#2 Red Deer Alberta between Calgary and Edmonton. Tourism Red Deer is also located in the same building. Bus route is within 10 minute walking distance of building. Website is www.ashfm.ca
