Summer Reading Club & Outreach Facilitators (2 positions)
Are you energetic, ambitious, and have a good knowledge of children’s literature, arts and crafts and computers? Do you have experience and enjoy working with the public, especially children aged 5-12? If so, the SD&G County Library would like to talk to you.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of a District Supervisor, the Summer Reading Club and Outreach Facilitators will help with the implementation of the TD Summer Reading Club at branches of the SD&G County Library. This will include the preparation of marketing materials as well as other publicity and related activities; the organization of weekly programs at a minimum of eight branches, including preparation of activity materials, set up/take down; outreach activities to the community at scheduled events, and other duties as assigned.
A successful candidate must:
have a valid Ontario driver’s license and his/her own transportation,
be legally eligible to work in Canada,
have/take current First Aid training,
be between 16 and 30 at the start of employment,
be a full-time student, returning to full-time study in the semester following the work experience, and
obtain a clear police check prior to starting work.
French language skills would be a definite asset. Successful candidates will travel to a minimum of eight Library branches and/or community locations in SD&G each week. Mileage will be paid between locations.
Duration:
35 hours per week for 16 weeks (evening and weekend work required)
Anticipated start/end date: May 7, 2018 and ending August 25, 2018
Salary:
$14.00 per hour
