Summer Student Employment Opportunity

Summer Program Assistant

Tuesdays to Saturdays $14.00 per hour
Start Date: Start date is negotiable before July 1st to August 25, 2018
Duration: 10 weeks
Hours per week: 30

Hours will be divided between our Honey Harbour and MacTier Public Library locations.

Connect to the exciting world of library information and technology by joining the library’s public service team. Primary responsibility will be to support the Honey Harbour and MacTier Public Library staff during the busy summer months. The student will organize and carry out special educational and fun summer reading programs for children. The student will provide customer service for all age groups and assist staff at the circulation desk. Specific related additional duties may be assigned periodically by the CEO.

Transportation required.

Salary: $14.00 per hour

Job requirements:

• Weekday and weekend hours required
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel & e-mail
• Creativity and working with children an asset
• Ability to provide friendly, helpful, customer service
• Good listening and communication skills
• Highly organized
• Ability to ensure accuracy and reliability of data and or quality of assignments

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and applicants must be a Canadian citizen between the ages of 15 and 30 and be a full-time student returning to school in the fall of 2018.

The successful candidate will require a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
