Archive Assistant

Kingston, an historical Loyalist community in Southern New Brunswick, is home of the John Fisher Memorial Museum and Archive. The Archive Assistant will foster further growth of the Archive by developing a volunteer engagement plan and supporting infrastructure including job descriptions, orientation and training resources and work plan. Duties will include ongoing archive work: appraising, arranging, preserving and describing materials including photographs; updating data bases; assisting archive visitors and researchers; and incorporating use of social media in archive operations. Collaborating with a team of volunteers and summer students, the Archive Assistant will enhance public access and interest in our heritage.

This position is of particular interest to students pursuing archival management, history and cultural heritage, rural development , volunteer management or hospitality and tourism.
