South Shore Public Libraries (SSPL), Bridgewater, NS, seeks a Collection Development Project Assistant. This is a 12 week position, 35 hours per week at $12 per hour.
SSPL is medium sized Public Library system located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia with 4 town branches, a mobile library and an administrative office. The service area includes Lunenburg and Queens counties and has a total population of just under 60,000.
Job tasks include: .  
Provide research, gather and collate data for about Young Adult Collection, Research young adult authors and available material that reflects diversity and inclusiveness, Develop a budget and buying plants refresh collection, Participate in on-site learning opportunities such as Webinars and staff-delivered training sessions, Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The candidate will be enrolled in an undergrad degree in Humanities, preferably in English or History, and be considering enrolling in an accredited MLIS program after completion of first degree. Excellent computer and research skills are necessary. We are looking for someone who is passionate about public libraries who has a good work ethic and possesses problem solving skills. They should have proven leadership skills and be versatile and coachable.
