The position of Curatorial & Collections Assistant at the Woodstock Art Gallery requires a student at the post-secondary undergraduate level pursuing a degree in Art History or Studio. The student should have demonstrable strengths in research and writing, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience handling art, knowledge of database management and Canadian art would be beneficial. Experience working or volunteering in public gallery, museum or library is desirable.

The position of Curatorial & Collections Assistant will be of particular interest to a student who wishes to pursue further academic or curatorial work, in addition to work in museums or galleries. The Woodstock Art Gallery is a small and very active gallery where the student will be given many responsibilities and opportunities to learn and develop. The student will work closely with the Director/Curator and Head of Collections to get a solid foundation in curatorial exhibition practice and collections management within the context of the other functions and priorities of an innovative municipal gallery.

Salary rate is $16.00 per hour. Scheduled 35 hour work week which will include weekends and alternate shift hours. May be required to work overtime.
This position is a sixteen week contract to start May 7 and run to August 24, 2018.
