Westfield is a stunning collection of over 30 historical buildings which has made Westfield one of the most interesting historical destinations in Ontario. Carefully restored and staffed with costumed interpreters, the buildings capture the true charm and spirit of early Canadian culture. Visitors may witness living history demonstrations and take part in guided tours of the 130-hectare site which is bordered by beautiful woodlands, meadows and trails.

Westfield Heritage Village is working on its first large deaccessioning process in over ten years. We will be reviewing all collection storage areas to identifying artifacts that do not fit our criteria for retention in the permanent collection. These objects will be processed according to our collection policy. An itemized list of these objects, along with any provenance information, will be generated and posted to the appropriate organizations within the public trust.

The successful candidate will work with staff and volunteers to examine the permanent collection in designated storage areas. They will physically separate and list items which were designated for removal from permanent status. They will photograph and or describe deaccessioned items so that a posting can be made to other public institutions of the items available. The candidate will be expected to work with staff and volunteers to evaluate and prepare for sale objects not acquired by the public trust.
