Resurgo Place, the home of the Moncton Museum and Transportation Discovery Centre, offers an array of educational programs and cultural outreach programs. Since its reopening in 2014, the public response has been truly positive. To capitalize on this, we have developed Summer Camps to further engage local youth. Resurgo Place provides a safe and inclusive location for learning in a fun and informal manner.
The Education Coordinator – Summer Camps assists the Heritage Development Officer – Programming with the conceptualization, development, delivery and evaluation of the 2018 summer camp activities and workshops in correlation with informal and experiential educational principles. This includes research, development and implementation for all Resurgo Place Summer Camp programs. The Education Coordinator – Summer Camps also supervises a team of Program Leaders tasked with the delivery of these Summer Camp programs.
The student must have completed one (1) year of university majoring in Education, History, Science, Recreation, Theatre, Natural Science or another related field. Must be familiar with activity programming and supervisory duties. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Must be fluently bilingual. The student must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. The student will also be expected to develop a working ability with Chrome systems. The position requires self-motivation, customer service skills, good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of history, geography and culture of Greater Moncton would be an asset.
