The Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the provincial art gallery of New Brunswick, is seeking an Art Programs Coordinator.
The Beaverbrook Art Gallery, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is known across Canada for its unmatched collection of art from historical to contemporary, Canadian as well as international, and for its established and growing art education and outreach programs. In 2017, the Gallery opened its brand new pavilion expansion, with an addition of 33000 square feet of exhibition spaces, as well as an artist in residence studio, a café, a learning centre, outdoor courtyard and a public sculpture garden. With a collection of 6000 works of art, over 13 gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions, 25 staff and over 100 volunteers, the Gallery is celebrating their new expansion with a spectacular exhibition schedule and an ambitious program plan in 2018. The Art Programs Coordinator will contribute greatly to the success of our summer programs.

The Art Programs Coordinator is a member of our education team and develops and delivers art programs for audiences of all ages in the gallery as well as in our outreach venues. The candidate for this position will be a visual arts, education or art education student with a keen interest in community engagement. The candidate will have great communication, research, program developing and program assessment skills, with a special focus on art education, in both official languages. Great bilingual writing skills are desirable, as well as experience with planning, organizing and reviewing programs. A desire to learn more about Canadian and Atlantic artists is essential.

The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
The Beaverbrook Art Gallery encourages applications from the Government of Canada’s job equity groups. The job posting will be shared with the following New Brunswick organizations: Service Canada, the Multicultural Centre, New Brunswick Association for Community Living, and First Nations Communities. We will also recruit candidates through a job posting on the Beaverbrook Art Gallery website (which will also be mentioned in the member newsletter and through social media), and through online job postings at universities and colleges. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications for the position, and it will be verified that said candidates have a YCW account. Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview and eligibility criteria will be discussed during the interview (while respecting HR conditions); the Supervisor in charge will interview the candidates alongside an HR representative from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. The final selection will be made by the Supervisor in charge and the HR representative from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery.

Please apply by email at hr@beaverbrookartgallery.org by April 27, 2018.
