The DCNM is truly a Danish experience. The Museum site, situated on 14 acres of land, hosts traditional Danish gardens, walking trails, a man made lake, a small Danish Church, the Freydis Joanna – an authentic Viking Ship, the Thomsen Cabin and CPR House and an enchanting ‘Children’s Garden of Imagination”, featuring Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales. The original ‘Verbena Dormitory’ (circa. 1930s) a two-story structure, provides space for the DCNM library, immigrant history/genealogical centre, 3 additional exhibit rooms, Gift Shop and Saga Cafe. Throughout the season the DCNM hosts several Danish cultural festivals: St. Hans Fest, Aebleskiver Days, Viking Days and Julestue.
