Employment Opportunity – Museum Researcher
The North Atlantic Aviation Museum is accepting applications for summer student positions as Museum Researchers.
The Researcher will be instrumental in development and delivery of the Museum’s physical displays and programming, working closely with management, staff and board members, as well as interacting directly with the public to ensure that information provided is complete, accurate and relevant. The primary focus of this position is to maintain and enhance the integrity of the Museum’s existing artifacts and new acquisitions by verifying provenance, and to improve the overall visitor experience by providing additional information and contextual references.
The positions will be located at North Atlantic Aviation Museum, 135 Trans Canada Highway, Gander.
The wage will be $11.00 per hour. Please contact the North Atlantic Aviation Museum directly with inquiries concerning length of employment.
Applicants must have been a full-time student in the winter semester of 2018 and plan to be a full-time student in the fall. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and general competence in computer hardware and software will be required. Research experience and strong communications and public relations skills would be preferred and a demonstrated interest in, or knowledge of, aviation and aerospace history and development would be considered an asset.
