Do you have an interest in the local stories and history of Summerside? Are you looking for a dynamic opportunity to enter the history and cultural industry? Culture Summerside is seeking keen and qualified student applicants for the position of Archives Summer Staff: Built Heritage to offer an exceptional experience for our tourists and residents visiting the following heritage buildings; MacNaught History Centre and Archives, Lefurgey Cultural Centre, and Wyatt Historic House Museum.

As part of the archives team, the successful candidate will work closely with our Archivist and Archives/Curatorial Assistant. Duties will include: reception services in person and on the phone, providing reference services which include introducing researchers to archival holdings and retrieving requested materials, data entry work, updating the Library catalogue, photo inventories, and online databases. The Archives Summer Staff: Built Heritage will study heritage buildings in Summerside and be able to speak to aspects of their history, for the benefit of the visiting public. Additional duties include assisting visitors with historical research. As time permits, assisting with re-housing of accessions and researching context of select holdings will be required. Other duties include preparing the archives and adjacent museum areas for morning opening and closing in the evening.

French language would be considered an asset.
