Prairie Mountain Regional Museum - Museum Assistant
Located 3 miles east of Shoal Lake, MB
Wage - $13.00/hour, 40 hours/week Beginning May 9,2018-Aug. 28,2018
The Museum Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings and garden, public tours & script for tours, preparing educational material and promoting the museum at local events, restoration of buildings and artifacts, working on displays.
Qualifications: Basic computer skills, a valid driver's license and own transportation, a willingness to work indoors and outdoors, an interest in local history, good communication skills and willingness to work with volunteers.
The candidate must be eligible for the Young Canada Works Program
Must be between the ages of 16 &30, a fulltime student returning to secondary or post secondary education in the fall. Be legally entitled to work in Canada and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or been granted refugee status in Canada. Be registered with the YCW candidate inventory.

The Prairie Mountain Regional Museum is located off the Yellowhead Highway between Shoal Lake and Strathclair and focuses on horse drawn equipment and artifacts from 1870-1940. The region is agriculture based with many scenic lakes and golf courses. The area has many other attractions including historical sites, churches, cemeteries, local museums and agricultural fairs.
