Position: Community Liaison Assistant
May 2018-August 2018

The Leacock Museum is the summer home of Canadian Humourist, Stephen Leacock. As his cottage getaway, the house continues to enable guests to relax, unwind and be entertained. As the Community Liaison Assistant, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in creating the perfect experience for our clientele; whether it be by leading tours, working weddings or creating programs. We are looking for students in the following fields: Museum and Gallery Studies, Arts or History, English or Event Planning. Basic Word processing and excellent public relation skills are required.

The City of Orillia, home to the likes of Stephen Leacock and Gordon Lightfoot, is known for its festivals and quaint small town feel (welcome to Leacock's Mariposa!). Although we will be entering our busy season, there may be times where we partner with other arts and culture organizations to create better experiences for the community and tourists. These events may include the Mariposa Folk Festival, the Leacock Medal for Humour Gala weekend (Leacock Associates), or author readings partnered with Manticore Books.

Please apply through the City of Orillia website's postings, when available.
Application Deadline: Friday, April 20, 2018
