Reporting to: Manager of Supporter Relations

Job description:

Reporting to the Manager of Supporter Relations, the Development and Stewardship Assistant will play an important role in the National Music Centre Fund Development team. Working with volunteers and staff, the Development and Stewardship Assistant will assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the donor database, ensure that donor records are up-to-date, and assist in the fulfillment of stewardship activities.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Use The Raiser’s Edge to store and track constituent data.
• Update constituent records and donor profiles in The Raiser’s Edge.
• Support the Development team in data entry, report creation and mailing list generation as required.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times and adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines.
• Create reports tailored to Development staff specifications.
• Support stewardship activities including but not limited to: donor phone calls, preparation of welcome pages.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program in September 2018 in non-profit management, business administration, fundraising, museum studies, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working in the non-profit sector is considered an asset.
• Experience working with sensitive and confidential information is considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and online research.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and meet goals in a timely manner.
• Adaptability, flexibility, creativity, and the capacity to function effectively in a fast-paced and active team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in both Mac- and PC-based computer platforms.
