Salary: $ 13.00/hr depending on experience

Qualifications required:
- Applicant should be a Post Secondary, College, University or Community College student who will be returning to school in the fall.
- 16 to 30 years of age and meet YCW program criteria
- Have an interest in Museums and Archives with History or English and Journalism or Tourism and Hospitality or Public Relations or Computer Studies and Data Base Programming or Business Management and Administration as one of their field of studies or interest.
- Must have a pleasing personality; be responsible, honest, trustworthy, and independent, self motivated, be able to work with minimal supervision and be a team member
- Previous experience working with the public
- Social media experience preferred
- Willing to commit to the whole time period of the full time employment
- Have good computer skills and fluent in written and spoken English
- A driver’s license and use of a vehicle would be an asset but not a requirement

This position is in Virden, Manitoba and is open to all post secondary students (male or female) and includes all visible minorities and/or aboriginal students. An open competition will be held and a resume should be submitted for review. Interviews will be conducted by the Board and all students will be notified with their decision.

Job description:
- Required to open up and close the Museum on a daily basis and operate the security system.
- Create “Special Events”, New promotions and work hand in hand with the onsite Museum Curator
- Maintain all records, collection care, cataloguing procedures, update computer files and data base, create new & change displays as required, create a display for Farmer’s Market and downtown events as required and distribute brochure info etc
- Assist with family research, local history research, public relations and organize school tours
- Promote our Museum via social media, posters, various advertising media, newspaper articles
-Attend monthly Board meetings and report to the Board as necessary
- Assist Board in maintaining the yard and gardens during the summer
