Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan is seeking two full-time summer students for the positions of Museum Assistant and Program Assistant for the period of May 4 to August 24, 2018.
Museum Assistant duties include: various museum tasks related to the collections including documentation, research and maintenance of exhibitions, assisting with public programming, and tourism.
Program Assistant duties include: summer program and event planning, promotion and delivery; guiding school tours; responsibility for summer tourism initiatives
Successful candidates will have excellent communication and computer skills, creativity and initiative. Skills related to planning or specific job tasks are also additional assets. Students with education goals related to Education, Art, History and/or Marketing preferred.
A willingness to learn, plan and carry out projects from initiation to completion is essential.
