The Learning and Public Engagement Assistant will provide assistance with Learning and Public Programming initiatives including supporting the planning and delivery of a three week Summer Intensive for youth ages 15-19, in partnership with Arts Umbrella, and assisting with public programs related to the current exhibitions. The Learning and Public Engagement Assistant will perform these duties during a 12 week period at 35 hours per week. The position will be conducted in English and will begin June 11, 2018 and end September 1, 2018.

Duties will include:
- researching links with the exhibition program and the Provincial K-12 curriculum
- developing lesson plans for exhibitions
- supporting the planning and delivery of the Summer Intensive for youth
- assisting with public programs
- liaising with involved parties and ensuring deadlines are met
- updating contact databases
- data entry and record keeping

Qualifications:
- A background or demonstrated interest in education and visual arts
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution in education or visual arts program
- Teaching experience desired
- Must be able to work in a computerized office environment, using all MS Office software
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Careful attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and experience working in a team environment
- Creative problem solving

Hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 6pm
Salary: $15.00 per hour, plus a percentage in lieu of benefits. Occasional evenings may be required.
