Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum, located at 494 Taché Avenue in Winnipeg Manitoba, is seeking to fill one Collections and Data Entry Clerk position, for employment from May 14 to August 31, 2018.

The museum is undertaking a project to streamline and consolidate the information available in its collections management database and seeks somebody who is interested in assisting with data entry, research, digitization and documentation of the objects in its collections. As a Collections and Data Entry Clerk, you will gain in-depth knowledge of MSBM’s collections and have the opportunity to acquire working knowledge of the ULTIMA database. You will assist the acquisitions committee by conducting historical and comparative research to inform the committee in its decision-making process. You will cross-reference files, scan and link complementary documentation within the database. You will enter missing data and develop descriptions when required.

As an ideal candidate, you are fluently bilingual in both French and English and are able to demonstrate above-average proficiencies in written French. You have demonstrated research skills and are of a meticulous nature, priding yourself in your attention to detail skills. You are a post-secondary student, ideally focusing in areas of study such as museum studies, archive studies or bachelor of arts. You have an interest in Canadian history, and a general understanding of and appreciation for Manitoba history. You have working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs and basic proficiency on various social media platforms.
