The Grimsby Public Art Gallery seeks a motivated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Summer Studio Assistant. The Summer Studio Assistant, supervised by the gallery’s Education Coordinator, will assist the Summer Studio Instructor with running the Gallery’s summer art program for children. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of basic art materials and creative processes. S/he will enjoy working with children. Experience working with groups of children, interacting with the public and/or working with art processes are assets. Flexibility is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently. Basic computer skills are required. Characteristics of Region
The Grimsby Public Art Gallery is a small community art gallery serving the Town of Grimsby and the Niagara Region. We provide a well-rounded program of exhibitions, art classes and various other art activities. We show and collect primarily work by Canadian artists and have a special interest in the Book Arts, print-making and works on paper. Town of Grimsby website (www.grimsby.ca) gives an excellent overview of Grimsby and the various facilities and attractions that are available locally as well as links to further information.
