Under the supervision of CUAG’s Student and Public Programs Coordinator, the Art Education Assistant will assist with three main tasks: a) implementing the gallery’s education programming in summer 2018; b) planning, coordinating and implementing the five-week CUAG Art + Sports Camp; and c) researching and developing outreach projects specifically for the student community on campus, to be implemented in autumn 2018.

Field of study: The candidate will preferably possess an undergraduate degree in art history, fine arts, museum studies, or the humanities. Passion for and belief in the value of art education and public programming is extremely important. Prior experience in art education and public programming is an important asset, but is not mandatory. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Computer skills: The candidate needs basic word-processing and Internet research skills. Some experience with databases is an asset, but is not required.

Young Canada Works (YCW) eligibility:
To qualify for this position, you:
- Are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.
- Are legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Are between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Meet the eligibility criteria of the program for which you are applying.
- Are registered in the YCW online candidate database.
- Are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.
- Do not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW.
- Have been a full-time student (as defined by your educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW job.
- Intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW job.
