The Municipality of Bayham, a small rural municipality nestled along the Lake Erie north shore, offers positions at the Port Burwell Marine Museum & Historic Lighthouse.

Brief Job Description
Successful applicants will assist in the operation of Bayham sites by taking part in the core museum functions of interpretation and education as well as research, exhibition, and collection management. Responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service by interpreting the museums and history of the area to visitors. The Museum Assistant will conduct tours, provide tourism and local information, organize and conduct summer children's program weekly in August, carry out gift shop operations and perform basic housekeeping, site maintenance and security tasks.

In addition, the student will assist with event preparations and promotion, research artifacts, register visitors, collect admission fees, and undertake special projects as requested by supervisor or Board.

Museum Assistant applicant qualifications include:
• Must be between 16 and 30 years of age, with the intention to return to full-time studies in the fall and must be registered with Young Canada Works (http://young-canada-works.canada.ca/).
• Must possess strong verbal & written communications skills, and excellent interpersonal and social skills.
• Computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel. web-based "In-Magic" collections management and general internet and web skills
• Valid driver's license and access to a car are assets.
• Standard First Aid and CPR training are assets.
• General knowledge of the area and points of interest.
• Accurate record keeping duties
• Must be self-starter and able to work independently, as well as in a team setting.
