Mercer Union, A Centre for Contemporary Art is looking for an Educational Programming Intern for a six-month contract beginning September 19, 2017.

Mercer Union is dedicated to the advancement of contemporary art. We pursue our primary concerns through critical activities that include exhibitions, lectures, screenings, performances, publications, events and special projects. Our objective for this summer is to develop a permanent educational program that provides opportunities for emerging arts professionals that our current programming does not provide.

The Educational Programming Intern position would contribute to our objectives of producing accessible educational programs on contemporary art, and would provide autonomy and directed-research experience in the field of art and education.

The successful candidate will have:
-Recently graduated from a Post-Secondary Degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, Arts Education, Arts Administration, Curatorial Studies, or a related field, with a particular interest in pursuing Arts Education programming.
-Demonstrated interest in museum or gallery work, arts administration and arts education
-Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
-Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

Strong computer skills are essential; experience with office programs (Word, Excel) are considered an asset.
