The FOFA GALLERY at Concordia University in Montréal seeks an Inuit Film Festival Coordinator. This is a full time temporary position. Rate of pay is $16 per hour.

The Inuit Film Festival Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of the Tillutarniit Festival, a 3-day outdoor festival taking place in the outdoor courtyard space just outside of the FOFA Gallery. The coordinator will work in collaboration with curators, FOFA Gallery staff and production team. The FOFA Gallery aims to be a culturally safe space that provides support for the production of this exceptional festival while making space for young Indigenous curators and arts administrators to be the driving force behind this production.

As such, the ideal Candidate will have an Inuit cultural background, hold a deep understanding of the north and an awareness of issues related to the representation of Inuit and their culture. The candidate will also have a sincere interest in arts and culture with an appreciation of the role of arts and culture in the development of community as well as a keen interest in the role of site or location in this development. They must be self-motivated and interested in working with a team. The candidate should have exceptional time-management skills while being open to a convergence of various working methods and approaches. They must be willing and eager to develop their administrative skills related to pursuing a professional arts administrative practice.

Recent graduates from college or University are encouraged to apply. Ideally they will have training in arts related practice, art history, studio, design or arts administration. They should have working knowledge of MAC platform computers, able to manage email, document construction. Oral communication skills in English will be required, understanding of Inuktitut and or French will be viewed very favourably.
