The Claresholm & District Museum is comprised of an historic CPR railway station, an 8,000 square foot Exhibit Hall, an historic (1903)schoolhouse and a pioneer log cabin (c. 1929). The Museum houses over 16,000 artifacts and archival materials.

The Claresholm & District Museum is seeking a reliable, conscientious and motivated student, between 16 and 30 years, returning to school in the fall, for the position of Educational Program Assistant. The student must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. The EPA must be flexible and well-organized in order to perform a variety of tasks each day, including conducting tours, planning events and school visits, and assisting the Visitor Experience Lead as needed. The EPA will follow a Museum dress code. The EPA will work under the direction of the Executive Director of the Museum. Training will be provided throughout the duration of the job.
The start date will be May 2/16, the end date August 26/16. The rate of pay is $14.35/hr.@ 37.5 hrs. per week. Students must apply to the YCW website.

Claresholm is a Town of approximately 3748 residents (2011), situated along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It was incorporated in 1905 and experienced a boom over the next decade. The economy is based on farming and ranching. Tourism and recreation are growing in importance. Nearby is Head-Smashed-in Buffalo Jump, a World Heritage Site. The closest community to the south is Fort Macleod, to the north is Nanton, both historic towns.
Demographically, Claresholm’s population has a median age of 51 which is 16 years older than the Alberta average.
