Camp Easter Seal is located at Manitou Beach, a small village in central Saskatchewan. It located 1 hour away from Saskatoon and 2 hours away from Regina making the commute achievable. Manitou Beach is a summer vacation spot for many tourists from Saskatchewan and Canada because of having one of the few remaining salt and mineral lakes in the world. Students will work a total of ten camp sessions each being six days long. There will be two days between each camp session where students must leave camp site. Room and board will only be provided during each camp session.

Position: Student Nurse, Camp Easter Seal
Employment type: Seasonal, Full-time (May 12-August 21, 2017)

Duties and responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Camp Nurse, the Student Nurse is responsible for the health, well being and safety of the staff and campers at all times. Duties include:
• Providing first aid treatment and nursing care as required
• Pouring medication (under the supervision of the Camp Nurse)
• Working as a liaison with the Watrous District Health Complex
• Working as a liaison between the Camp, parents/guardians, campers and care facilities
• Working as a liaison with Counsellors, Counsellor Coordinators, Administration and Dietary Staff
• Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the medical centre
• Other duties as specified by the Camp Nurse or Camp Manager
Qualifications:
• Completed 3rd year in an Accredited School of Nursing
• Successful completion of Drug Calculation Exam
• Ability to work with people with varying abilities
• Effective interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and facilitation skills
• Oral communication skills
• Positive attitude
Final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search at their cost.
Compensation: $132.00 per day, based on a 12-hour shift schedule (room and board provided)
