Cultural Programs Coordinator
Date: January 2017 – October 2017
Hours: 35 Hours per week

Position Summary:
The Cultural Programs Coordinator is responsible for assisting and coordinating cultural and heritage activities and programs for Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID). This position will also include day-to-day office administrative support services RDBID cultural programs, responding to general inquiries regarding programming, and on-site coordination of RDBID activities. The Cultural Programs Coordinator is responsible for projecting a professional and positive image of RDBID at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:
5. Cultural Program Coordination
a. Research, develop and implement a cultural programming plan for Downtown Regina.
b. Develop and maintain a reporting system that documents the Downtown Regina activations.
c. Develop and maintain relationships with Downtown members to enhance and expand Downtown Regina activations.
d. Develop and facilitate programming partnerships where possible to encourage active uses in Downtown Regina.
e. Respond to membership and public inquiries regarding programming and activations within Downtown Regina.
f. Provide coordination assistance at all RDBID signature events.
g. Compile and present data for the Marketing and Communications Manager by way of weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual reports for use in other RDBID initiatives.
6. Communications
c. Compose and submit articles/information for Regina Downtown’s e-newsletter, website, events calendar and Facebook page to the Manager of Marketing and Communications as requested.
d. Initiate on-going communication with the membership regarding upcoming RDBID initiatives for their input/participation/information via newsletter, hand delivered flyers, website and phone calls.
7. Administration
i. Develop Request for Proposals and sponsorship requests regarding Cultural Programming initiatives with the Executive Director.
j. Submit Cultural Programming expenditures to the Executive Director for approval.
k. Provide Cultural Programming information to RDBID Staff regarding budgetary updates, membership/customer database information and updates and general information sharing with other Departments.
l. Responsible for all filing related to Cultural Programming.
m. Establish working relationships with City administration and other stakeholders in Downtown Regina.
n. Assist in coordination and logistics of RDBID sponsored meetings at the request of the Executive Director.
o. Attend and take minutes of meetings at the request of the Executive Director
p. Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
8. Future Planning
d. Conduct research on best practices related to downtown event planning and community programming.
e. Generate ideas for the coming year’s work plan from membership input, periodicals, staff work sessions and other media.
f. Attend conferences and workshops with and on the behalf of the Executive Director that will aid the organization as a whole in generating ideas, developing and carrying out work plans that will benefit the entire membership.
