Tamwood Camps:
Founded in 1992, Tamwood International College is a privately owned company that operates a number of carefully designed and managed Summer Camps across Canada (Vancouver, Whistler and Toronto) and the United States (Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles). Tamwood's junior programs are run under a separate division called Tamwood International Camps and offer young students between the ages of 7 and 17 the chance to learn a new language, practice a sport, take part in an adventure program, develop new skills, make friends from around the world and create memories that will last a lifetime. In 2013, we had over 1,000 students from over 30 countries.
The mission of Tamwood’s junior programs is to enable young people to come together in a non-competitive and non-judgmental environment for much more than classroom based language instruction. We believe that a great deal of language comprehension occurs outside the classroom and to that end, we endeavor to design a well-rounded curriculum that includes classroom time, sightseeing, sporting activities, and cultural events. Moreover, Tamwood believes that if children can be introduced to children of different cultures at an early age, then we might be successful in breaking down the preconceived notions of culture and negative stereotypes.
