South Central Regional Library through the support of the Young Canada Works Program, is looking for a mature student to fill a 11-week position as a Programmer for the summer reading program. Qualifications required: Must have strong written and oral skills in English and work well under minimal direction. The candidate will represent South Central regional Library and work with other Programmers to develop and implement a positive and interactive summer reading program. Strong social media and technical skills are valued but being able to interact well with children and others is a must. A valid driver’s license would be an asset but not required.
Applicant must:
Be able to plan and organize work, take initiative and be creative with what’s available
An enthusiastic team player who likes to work with children.
Is between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. **International students are not eligible.
Is legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations.
Applicants will be required to submit a clean criminal record check.
Beginning date: June 15, 2026 End date: August 24, 2026
