The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre is seeking a highly motivated candidate currently enrolled in post-secondary education for the position of Centennial Collections Officer. As the town of Capreol, Ontario prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2018, the candidate will be responsible with assisting with the development of historical displays and photograph exhibits. The candidate will also assist with accessioning new donations into the museum's existing catalogue. A background in historical studies, geographical studies, communications or gerontology preferred. French verbal skills highly desirable; written skills an asset.
The museum attracts visitors from all across Canada, the United States, and as far away as Great Britain, Germany and Japan. It hosts a series of special events throughout the year including its Rods N' Rails Classic Car Show, Canada Day Celebrations, Capreol Heritage Days and the Terror Train 6077.
