The POP Montreal International Music Festival is a not-for-profit grassroots organization that champions independence in the arts by presenting emerging and celebrated artistic talents from around the world.

Now entering its 25th year, POP’s main event is a five-day music and arts festival taking place in the early fall, featuring emerging local and international artists, as well as headliner performances and multidisciplinary events.

Job description:

The POP Montreal Marketing Department is in search of a highly motivated, organized, and creative student who is interested in working in the field of marketing within the Montreal arts and culture sector. The Social Media Fulfillment Coordinator will, working with POP Montreal's Online Content and Community Coordinator, oversee the fulfillment of the social media calendar for the summer activities, as well as the full festival. They will play a key role in supporting the Artist Relations Director with festival ticketing strategies and audience services, and keep internal stakeholders updated on ticket sales.

The Social Media Fulfillment Coordinator will:
- Support the festival experience through maintaining and improving upon our virtual and in-person box office strategies, and through nurturing relationships with our audiences. They will oversee ticketing systems, manage event listings, implement event updates throughout all promotional channels, and liaise with festival attendees;
- Have a degree/diploma or is pursuing studies in Marketing, Communication and Arts Administration, or has a combination of relevant education/work experience;
- Liaise with and support the Online Content and Community Coordinator in researching, planning, creating, and executing marketing efforts ex.new content series, video content;
- Maintain a social media calendar to proactively schedule and track what should be published and when;
- Fulfill POP Montreal’s social media strategy across platforms in order to maintain the promotional marketing plan and engage with our online communities; including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, Vimeo, Soundcloud;
- Assist the Online Content and Community Coordinator with the compilation of information for the weekly newsletter, promotional posts on social media and Facebook events;
- Use social media tools including Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Ads Manager Facebook Insights, Twitter, Analytics, Instagram Insights, Hootsuite (or similar);
- Liaise with the Director of Brand Partnerships to ensure fulfillment of contracts (social media section);
- Maintain POP's social media presence on-site at summer events.

The ideal candidate:
- Is well-acquainted with popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok
- Has an active interest in contemporary arts and culture and thinking outside of the box
- Works well autonomously, and in a team
- Has strong communication skills in both English and French (spoken and written)
- Is familiar with the arts and cultural landscape in Montreal
- Is well-organized, attentive to details, and able to meet deadlines
- Experience with Photoshop, InDesign and/or Adobe Premiere is an asset

The student:
- is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or has refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible);
- is legally entitled to work in Canada;
- will be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- is willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
- will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works (YCW) work assignment;
- has been a high school, college, CEGEP or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment;
- intends to return to studies in the semester following the YCW work assignment;
- has a working knowledge of both English and French.
