The Beachville District Museum is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team
as an Education and Public Programming Coordinator (EPPC). As a key member of our
organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our 2024/2025 programs and
events. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a recent college or university graduate with a
passion for museum studies, community, history, education, and/or cultural studies.

Start Date: June 10, 2024
End Date: March 31, 2025
Hours: 35 hours per week (9am-4pm, Monday-Friday)
*Hours may vary based on event schedule and may include evenings and/or weekends

Reporting to the Curator, the EPPC’s primary responsibilities are to:
-Review and Revise Program and Event Policies
-Develop and Implement 2024/25 Program and Event Schedule
-Market Programs and Events
-Deliver Educational Programs
-Collect and Analyze Participant Evaluations

The ideal candidate:
-holds a post-secondary degree in programming, museum studies, history, education, cultural
studies, or a related field
-has an interest working in the heritage sector or in museums
-is responsible, organized and self-motivated
-conducts themselves in a professional manner
-meets the current eligibility criteria for the Young Canada Works - Building Careers in Heritage
job program
-has reliable means of transportation
-has experience with Canva or other marketing asset creation software(s)
** Experience in teaching, educational planning, museum research, event management, or
public/educational programming will be considered an asset

Beachville is situated in the Thames River Valley between Ingersoll and Woodstock, just thirty
(30) minutes east of London. The village originally developed around the limestone industry and
the railroad, and became a central hub of Oxford County. Beachville District Museum is
supported through a joint funding agreement between Zorra Township, South-West Oxford

Township and the Beachville District Historical Society.

This position is funded in part through the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage program, and all applicants must be registered in the YCW candidate pool and meet the current YCW-BCH eligibility criteria. An individual may be eligible for an internship if they:
• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible);
• are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
• are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment; and
• are a college or university graduate (certificate, bachelor's, master's or doctorate).
Note: Priority will be given to graduates that have not previously participated in YCW internship programs and that are unemployed or underemployed.
