Job Description:
Join Ross Farm Museum as a Heritage Interpreter in Domestic Skills and bring the history of rural Nova Scotia in the 1800s to life! As a key member of our team, you will immerse visitors in the authentic experiences of the past, showcasing historical domestic skills through live demonstrations, guided tours, and educational programs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage and enhance the visitor experience at our living museum.

About Ross Farm Museum:
Located in the picturesque community of New Ross, Nova Scotia, Ross Farm Museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of rural Nova Scotia in the 1800s. Our living museum provides visitors with an immersive experience, featuring historical buildings, farm animals, artifacts, horse-drawn wagon rides, live demonstrations of heritage skills and engaging programs that showcase the daily life of the time period.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct live demonstrations of domestic skills such as weaving, spinning, open-hearth cooking, and more.
- Lead guided tours, providing insights into the history of rural Nova Scotia in the 1800s.
- Develop and implement educational programs for visitors and school groups.
- Participate in community outreach and coordinate public events showcasing historical practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing or completed a degree in History, Museum Studies, Anthropology, Education, or related field.
- Interest in historical interpretation and proficiency in domestic skills is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and research.
