Employment Details: Full-time (35 hours per week), 1-year contract, pending approval from Young Canada Works

Rate of Pay: 17.50 per hour

Requirements: Cover letter and resume, minimum of three references, RNC Certificate of Conduct/Vulnerable Sector Check (required for employment)

Who Can Apply: This opportunity is available through the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage program, and all applicants must be registered in the YCW candidate pool and meet the current YCW-BCH eligibility criteria. n individual may be eligible for an internship if they:
• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible);
• are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
• are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment; and
• are a college or university graduate (certificate, bachelor's, master's or doctorate).
The successful applicant will be asked to complete the Young Canada Works eligibility form prior to beginning work.
Note: Priority will be given to graduates that have not previously participated in YCW internship programs and that are unemployed or underemployed.

Summary of Position:

Manuels River hosts a variety of community events and programs throughout the year that are consistent with the mandate of Manuels River Community Inc. The Community Events & Program Coordinator looks for any way to help Manuels River run these events and programs efficiently. Assisting the Event Supervisor and key event project managers/Chairs (internal and external) with producing high-quality community events. You are motivated, resourceful and responsible.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to the Events Supervisor, and event project managers/Chairs
- Organization and administrative duties, including email and phone calls
- Help with event planning, on-site logistics, set-up and tear-down
- Contribute to the care and management of inventories and supplies
- Communicate with event and program stakeholders, including artists, artisans, vendors, and other participants as necessary
-Other duties as required

Qualifications
- YCW Funding requires all applicants be between the ages of 16 and 30 and a graduate of university or college
- Excellent written and oral communication & interpersonal skills
- Well organized, with a great eye for details
- Hands on and pragmatic
- Punctual and disciplined
- Strong team player who demonstrates positivity
- Proactive and responsive to anticipate and fulfill the needs of the role
