CKUT 90.3 FM, McGill's campus-community radio station, is hiring an Outreach and Digital Engagement Assistant through Young Canada Works. The Outreach and Digital Engagement Assistant will work with the Funding and Outreach Coordinator to boost CKUT’s presence in the Montreal community over the summer, and reflect the day-to-day happenings at the station and beyond on CKUT’s website and social media. CKUT co-presents and sponsors many festivals, cultural events, and more, and this role could involve working with and attending events on behalf of CKUT. The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly motivated, with a passion for campus-community radio and a knack for social media. There will also be opportunities to pitch creative projects in this role – in the past, students have filmed a "Tiny Desk" concert series, for example. This is a summer position.

Qualifications:

- Currently studying in Communications, Journalism, Music, or another relevant program,

- Experience assisting with and/or promoting events,

- Experience with Wordpress and social media management,

- Bilingualism (English and French) a strong asset,

- Previous experience working or volunteering in a campus-community radio environment is an asset.

This position will be within a hybridized working environment. The student will work sometimes from our offices on McGill campus, pandemic-permitting. Therefore, the candidate must be based in Montreal.

Extended deadline: Interested applicants must send a CV and cover letter to Madeline at funding@ckut.ca by Friday, May 6, 2022. Applicants can also direct any questions about the role to this email.

CKUT is a progressive working environment and recognizes experiences outside of the formal workforce as important qualifications. CKUT prioritizes the unique contributions that individuals from traditionally under-represented and oppressed communities bring to our organization, and invites these individuals to apply. We encourage ALL applicants to make mention of the diverse experience that they may have had that would make them qualified for this position. Please indicate clearly in your cover letter that you would like to be considered for Employment Equity. You are encouraged, but not required, to self-identify if you are part of marginalized and oppressed communities that include but are not limited to: Aboriginal peoples, women, visible and/or racialized minorities, persons with disabilities, immigrant, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and 2-spirited persons.
