Children's Heritage Program Coordinator (1 position) July 1, 2017 30hours/week, 9 weeks, $14/hour
Job Description: The student will be responsible for coordinating all materials necessary for (and including) implementation of the Children's Heritage Program: the weekly education/activity session the Museum offers to the area children ages 5 to 12. The employee will have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with young children. The employee will be responsible for creating the Children's Program for the summer of 2018. The employee will work regular shifts within the Museum, either opening (10 am to 4 pm) or closing (12 pm to 6pm) and will be responsible to learn all tasks of both shifts including some cleaning, gift shop sales duties and assisting with all scheduled events during the summer. Museum staff is expected to act as ambassadors to both the Museum and the community while engaging the many guests over the summer months. The ideal candidate will be a local high school student who is articulate, enthusiastic and displays confidence with others. A second language will be an asset but not a requirement. Basic computer and internet knowledge along with familiarity with social media sites is required as is an interest in local history. Some hours in June and September will be available to the candidate if they are interested.
