Ponoka, Alberta is a rural town with a population of approx. 7000 people. Main industry is farming and main employer is the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury. Ponoka is located 60 km. north of Red Deer on the QEII Highwat. Claim to fame is the annual Stampede at the end of June. There are 2 popular golf courses and many lakes to access within an hour's drive. The Cal-Nash Ag Centre is a new facility for horseback riding, a training facility and host to every kind of horse related event there is! It is also home to Canadian Professional Cowboy Hall of Fame.
