Fur Brigade Trail Specialist/ Young Canada Works
May 15th – August 31st, 2017
A Fur Brigade Trail Specialist is required for the Westbank Museum, located at 2376 Dobbin Rd. West Kelowna, BC.
The summer placement will coordinate the Fur Brigade Trail information with the Museum’s permanent exhibits to add to the new exhibit orientation reflecting Canada’s 150 Years. This and other projects relating to the exhibits will be a full time 16 week position beginning May 15th, 2017. The position is offered at $14.00 per hour. The successful candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for exploring history and presenting historical data to the public in an interesting and engaging manner. The Fur Brigade Specialist must be a good communicator, and possess an excellent working knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

The position is open to post-secondary students returning to full-time studies in the next academic year
Preference will be given to students with outgoing, positive attitudes. The applicant must:
• be legally entitled to work in Canada
• be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada
• be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
• be registered in the YCW on-line candidate inventory
• be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment
• not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW
